James Greene was named the Vice President of Engineering and Operations for the Sevier County Utility District (S·C·U·D) in November 2018. His responsibilities include administration of the day-to-day activities relative to the design, engineering, operations, construction, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of S·C·U·D’s natural gas pipelines and facilities.
James began his career with S·C·U·D in 2000 by working part-time during the summers as an engineering intern. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of Tennessee in 2002, he began working full-time in the Engineering Department. James worked his way up ladder and was promoted to several key positions with increasing responsibilities, including previously serving as the Director of Engineering & Technical Services.
James is a 2004 graduate of the Sevier County Leadership Tomorrow Program. He attends Pathways Church in Sevierville and is active in the community, including previously coaching a variety of youth sports.
James is married to his best friend and high school sweetheart, Jennifer, who is a nurse practitioner. They are they proud parents of three boys: David, Jacob, and Ben. Outside of work, James enjoys attending football, baseball, and basketball games, golfing, hiking and being outdoors, exercising, traveling, and spending time with his family, friends, dogs, and horses. He is an avid University of Tennessee sports fan and the #1 fan of whatever sports his boys are currently playing.
